Micah Jay is 14 Months!

 Here's our handsome little man at 14 months old and officially taking his first STEPS.  It only took him 14 months to finally take 4 consecutive steps on his feet.  Woo Hoo!  He's pretty proud of himself!

 

 Micah LOVES the swimming pool. 

   

Below is one of my most favorite pictures because I'm sure it's one of the last times my 'baby' will fall asleep in my arms.  Remember the book that I absolutely adore by Karen Kingsbury?  Let Me Hold You Longer is the title and it sums up my feelings exactly...

 

Long ago you came to me, a miracle of firsts: 

First smiles and teeth and baby steps, a sunbeam on the burst. 

But one day you will move away and leave to me your past,

And I will be left thinking of a lifetime of your lasts....

I look ahead and dream of days that haven't come to pass.

But as I do, I sometimes miss today's sweet, precious lasts...

to every precious last.

 

I haven't had any luck getting through this book a single time without a tissue! 

 

 So here I am... Soaking up every last drop of the moment that just might be one of those lasts!

 

 Least favorite memory of the month.....  Hand Foot Mouth Disease!  Oh, it was miserable for us both!!!!!  This picture does not do it justice.  Micah had spots EVERYwhere except on his abdomen, hence the reason we knew it wasn't chicken pox.  But it was short-lived and I'm very thankful to have my healthy little man back again!

Fun Facts about our 14-Month-Old

Micah...

• took his FIRST STEPS this month, 4 steps to be exact!
• is communicating with sign language (more, thank you , please, all done) and lots of points and grunts
• waves and blows the sweetest kisses
• loves to turn the lights on and off
• got 2 molars for a grand total of 11 teeth
• is starting to have an opinion about food. 
• is such a snuggle bug. 
• could sit for an hour taking the cap off of a pen and putting it on again.
• has the BEST LAUGH EVER
• teases and plays.....  it is sooooooo cute!  He'll begin to hand you something then pull it away right before you grab it.  He's got plenty of spunk!
• has a tender heart and often cries at the word NO

 

Micah Jay,  I'm holding on to every last and looking forward to many more firsts with you!  We just love you to pieces!!!!!!!!!!!!!  You fill our world with so much love, laughter and joy! :)  

Mother's Day, 2012!

We got to celebrate Mother's Day with my mom, aka Mimi on Saturday out at the Arboretum!

 

Count on Auntie B to be prepared for a fun day of adventure!  She brought airplanes for all of the kids to fly out in the wide open spaces of the Arboretum.....

 

Isaac already lost a wing....

 



 

Isaac's fun quickly faded with every nose dive his airplane took!  He just couldn't quite keep it in flight and was very perplexed by the remaining smaller and smaller pieces of his plane.... 

 

Here's Mr. Pouty Pants.....  He's cute even when he pouts!  Thankfully he doesn't stay pouty very long! ;)

Dirty feet....  this is the official sign of a good day among the McCulley boys!  They LOVE to get their feet DIRTY! :)

 

 

My sweet Wyatt brought me a pink rose on Sunday after church! 

My cup runneth over....  I am so blessed to have the privileged responsibility of being their mom! 



 

My middle man had a hard time falling asleep tonight so we got some sweet snuggle and reading time together.  Precious! :)  Another end to a pretty perfect day...

Micah's 1st BD.Easter Weekend.Family

We started out our fun-filled weekend on Friday with lots of cousins and lots of colors!  Ashtyn, Daxton, Wyatt, Isaac, Micah, Maddie and Katie gathered 'round to dye some eggs. 



Wyatt's painting outfit..... A white T and a pair of Daddy's boxers! :)



Wyatt discovered a new love for hard boiled eggs!  



Wyatt was fascinated with Maddie's I-touch! 



Isaac had an early morning car ride with Katie before the egg hunt!



Micah's ONE!  Yep, today is the day.  Micah got to celebrate full force with lots of people and lots of sugar! :)



After the egg hunt and a good nap we got to go swimming.... 

 



....and eat cupcakes, of course!  What would a birthday be without cupcakes?



O Glorious Day, He is Alive!  Because of Jesus' saving work on our behalf we have fullness of joy this day and everyday!  Not only did He come to this earth to live and suffer and die to free us from our sin (as if that isn't enough to celebrate!) but He came to give us life, abundant life.  So we had lots of fun dying eggs and hunting for candy-filled treasures in the grass, but we also celebrated the person of Jesus Christ who is the origin and cause and motivation and purpose and beginning and end of ALL things in this abundant life!
