Back to School, for the FIRST TIME!

Today was a BIG day for Wyatt... Preschool orientation! Is my favorite firstborn really going to school? I am so excited for him, but it's hitting me hard that this is the beginning of a journey of about 18+ years of school for Wy guy! I will never have my baby boy HOME all day, everyday again. But it's also reminding me to be THANKFUL for the 2 years I have with him before he's away all day long! : )
Wy guy was pretty excited about the idea of "real school" (compared to parent's day out which he attended last year!), but wanted to be reassured that Mommy was not dropping him off and leaving him on his own today! Wyatt has always had a little bit of separation anxiety (and a bit of a stubborn, strong will to go along with it!), so one of our goals for him this year is to separate from Daddy and Mommy with confidence!!!!
The verses we are committing to memory are:
Judges 6:12, "...The LORD is with you, mighty warrior."
Remember that the meaning of Wyatt is 'Little Warrior' so this verse seemed to be very fitting for him! Joshua 1:9 "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.”

We were first greeted by this awesome mural and verse on the wall at the entrance of Wyatt's room...

...and it was a good reminder to Wyatt that He is LOVED because he is HIS!

We had a very FUN morning together meeting Wyatt's 3 teachers, Ms. Cami, Ms. Laura and Ms. Kay. They are all so delightful and naturally great with the kiddos! Aldersgate uses a team teacher approach with 21 students in each class (so the teacher:student ratio is actually less than most preschools!) and they rotate through different 'centers' with each teacher. It is very non-traditional, just like my Wy guy! There's no letter of the week or take home worksheets... everything is about learning by DOING and lots of creative play! I think it will be a perfect fit for Wyatt! : )
Daddy suggested a very special treat at Chuck-E-Cheese to celebrate the big day! The boys had a blast! : )
