Friends, Family and Fireworks!

We had a fantastic weekend with our dear friends, The Criles! We were so humbled that they packed up their car for a road trip to see us the weekend before closing on their new house. I felt totally stressed for them, but as usual, they were handling it all in stride and with much grace! We had a BLAST together with their 3 girls and our 3 boys. Everyone had a buddy...
Here's Mercedes and Isaac...
Alleighsyn (look at that smile! She is so CUTE!) and Micah...and Konstanze reading to Wyatt!I finally figured out what's missing from our family... A BIG sister! My boys just adored the "Big Girls", as Wyatt called them. I'm sure these petite little Crile girls heard the word "Big" as a description of themselves more this weekend than ever before! Ha! They are just precious and played so good with my fellas... everyone was entertained and got plenty of attention.
We enjoyed lots of time at the house just catching up while the kiddos played and we also ventured out for some fun excursions, including Kaleidoscope, the Crown Center sprinkler park, Black Bob Bay (pictured below), the American Girl store (each took home their own doll! Fun!), and a fourth of July bike parade!
The 'boys' jumping on the diving boards brought little glimpses to mind of what Joe and Will must have been like as buddies growing up together! The kids sat on the sidelines and cheered them on, belly flops and all! : )
Wyatt was right at the edge ready to give Daddy a high five and kept yelling, "You bad boy!!" with a very ornery chuckle!
Finally got a group shot of all 6 in the middle of the 4th of July bike parade. The girlies did a pretty nice job decorating Wyatt's bike, eh?
Criles, Your girls are just the sweetest and we just love you guys to pieces. Like I told you before, whatever parenting books you are reading, feel free to send them my way (or you can just write one of your own... that would be ok to!). You have an awesome family and we so look forward to getting to come visit you in your new home sometime soon! Thanks for a fun weekend and great memories!
Monday evening we met Mimi and Poppy at Corporate Woods for the annual fireworks display! It was a great night playing ball, eating watermelon, and playing superheroes with the light up finger swords that Mimi brought for the boys! My sweet little man and me...
