Easter... Oh, Happy Day!

He is Risen! We had a wonderful weekend full of pancakes, chocolate bunnies, and eggs filled with lots of goodies. But most importantly, we celebrated the cleansing power of Jesus through his death and Resurrection! My boys definitely haven't grasped the weight of their sin (nor have I, really) that Jesus carried on the cross, but Wyatt is beginning to understand the meaning of Easter...that Jesus died, was buried in a tomb, and then rose from the dead! All of this so there would be a LIVING HOPE and LIFE ETERNAL for those who believe and are saved! Wyatt offered to pray at the kids' table before Easter lunch... It was the first time I heard him thank God for JESUS!
Oh happy day, happy day!
The church we attend, Harvest Bible, had a pancake breakfast on Saturday morning. Yummy!

Then the kiddos got to play lots of fun games in the gym while we waited for the egg hunt to begin!

Isaac really wanted Baby bro to participate too! He would get his hands on Micah any chance he could get... But Micah man was comfy, cozy in the car seat and slept through the entire event! On your mark, get set, GO! The egg hunt began in a mad dash to fill your basket with as many eggs possible. Isaac was ALL about filling his own basket! And Wyatt was pretty proud of his collection too! Luckily they split them up by age group so or Isaac wouldn't have had a fighting chance with Wy guy and Dax! : ) On Sunday morning, the boys got to open their Easter baskets that Grandma Becky had left for them! They were pretty excited about the sweet treats inside! They also got a cool new art set from Mommy and Daddy. Disastrous, I know, but so much creativity inside!
Micah was snoozing away in his handsome little Easter outfit UNTIL... we got to church! I always try to strategically plan feedings but my efforts always seem to fail. Ugh! Micah was hungry so Mommy missed much of the service. I did get to hear the message, but it's not quite the same as experiencing the Easter message front and center!
Here are 3 of my 4 handsome fellas. Daddy didn't have enough arms to keep all 3 contained for a photo. Hey, you take what you get these days!
It's not only Wyatt who is completely enamored with Auntie B anymore, Isaac is too! You will usually get the arm shove if you try to take him away from his Auntie B. I love how much they love her! She is just a kid magnet... for my kids anyway. She has definitely found her niche in children's ministry!
Uncle Trent and Auntie B had us over for a beautiful Easter dinner and set up a pretty cool, color coded egg hunt for the kids! Isaac just wanted the candy inside... forget the egg hunt, just give me FOOD!
Isaac was supposed to be searching for YELLOW eggs, but apparently thought Ashtyn had better treats inside her PINK eggs... so Ashtyn had a little helper, aka the egg snatcher!
The Easter outfits didn't last long enough for a picture together. Willie the Wildcat and Fireman McCulley were on the hunt...
Micah got to meet his Grandma Great and Papa Great today!
Micah and Mimi
Micah and Poppy
This little man is definitely LOVED!
If Uncle Trent is around it means PLAYTIME!!! Isaac can't get enough!
Isaac was into everything! Here is attempted to take Poppy's phone away...
and help himself to a Cadbury egg from Mimi's Easter basket! Doesn't he look like a little painter here in his white, spotted outfit? Ha!
My kids are like little scavengers when there's chocolate around and act completely deprived! I guess we don't eat much candy in our house, so when someone else offers it to them they snatch it and eat it as fast as they possibly can in fear that Mommy is going to take it away! :)
Philippians 3:10-12
I want to know Christ—yes, to know the power of his resurrection and participation in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, and so, somehow, attaining to the resurrection from the dead. Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me.
