1 Down, 3 to Go!

3 more weeks without my Daddy... This stinks!
We're counting down the weeks 'til Joe gets home! He's officially been away for 1 week now and will return home in (hopefully!) 3 more weeks... The timing of his tentative return falls right at the beginning of the UN, so we're praying he doesn't get rolled onto another assignment!?! Wyatt and I are hoping to take a road trip to see Joe if he ever heads over to our neck of the woods! I think the time is passing quicker for Wyatt and I than it is for Joe. :(

Missing Daddy...

Dear Daddy,
You've only been gone 4 days and I'm missing you already. Mommy and I are having lots of fun together but it's just not the same without you around. Can't wait to see you in 23 days! With love from your favorite buddy, Wyatt
A bit preoccupied with his toy!
Hey, what's this?
My words exactly. This is my sad face... I've been practicing.
Do you see how much I miss you, Dad?

Daddy goes bye-bye : (

Since Wyatt has been with us, Joe has been very fortunate to be home! We knew the time was coming for him to do some traveling, considering that this is a campaign year... Well, he finally got an assignment with Senator Biden and will be away for a 4-week stretch. It was very hard for him to leave, knowing just how much Wyatt changes each month. I promised to keep him up-to-date as much as possible through the blog and our web cam!
Are you sure you gotta go, Dad?
I guess we'll just have to make the best of it... But I'm sure gonna miss you!

Future Agent...

Daddy bought Wyatt the cutest little Secret Service outfits that say 'Future Agent'... Mommy's sure hoping this isn't the case! I'm hoping Wyatt decides to do something very SAFE. However, I just have this gut feeling that our 'little warrior' (hence the meaning of Wyatt) will be called to do something a bit more courageous! The more we get to know our boy, the more fitting his name becomes. Joe and I are reading a book entitled "Tender Warrior" which is what we pray for our little man to be!
Daddy's little sidekick
Ummm...What do I want to be when I grow up?
I've got some time to sit on it.

Fun in the tub!

Wyatt loves the water! He has so much fun splashing and playing in the evenings. He thinks it's funny to get Mommy and Daddy very WET with his big splashes. And we normally end up draining and refilling the water at least once because he always manages to go pee pee in the tub! : )
Getting ready...
Splashing with my ducky
Toweling off and covering just the right areas!

Mommy's Birthday spent at the Pediatrician's!

Today was my 28th birthday... Wyatt made this birthday my favorite one yet! His spunky personality, sweet spirit, and love of life fill my heart with new JOY each day. He certainly fills my days with more purpose!
Wyatt was a bit fussy this morning... My little buddy is not fussy very often, so I knew something had to be hurting. I thought it was his tummy, but when we went to visit his pediatrician, she told us he had an ear infection. Bummer! So Wyatt got his first taste of medicine today. Yummy... I think it was pretty sweet!

First night away from Wyatt!

To celebrate Joe's 30th birthday, I planned a little get-a-way for us in Chicago! Wyatt's Grandma and Grandpa McCulley came from Iowa to babysit. It was sure hard to leave our little man overnight... I must add that we were not even leaving for a full 24-hours... But, I still had to hold back the tears the first few minutes in the car! : ) It must be a Mommy-thing because it didn't seem to phase Joe a bit! : / Thankfully, I was able to rest assured knowing that Wy was getting lots of attention and plenty of love with his grandparents!
Saying goodbye...
Did he miss us at all???
